What makes securing a home different in Avon-by-the-Sea?
Avon-by-the-Sea is a small borough of roughly 1,900 year-round residents that fills up every summer, with century-old homes and inns close together on narrow streets, a boardwalk and a municipal marina on the Shark River inlet. Water on three sides and a large share of seasonal and rental properties make security here about flood-aware equipment placement and remote visibility as much as locks and sensors.
Avon-by-the-Sea is barely half a square mile with water on three sides — the Atlantic and its boardwalk to the east, Sylvan Lake to the north, and the Shark River and its inlet drawbridges to the south, where the municipal marina sits.
