What Can BGS Security Protect in Garwood?
Narrow Lots, Shared Entries
Garwood's homes sit a few feet apart with side doors that neighbors can't see, and its new apartment buildings funnel dozens of residents through one lobby. BGS Security covers side and rear doors on the houses and installs low-impact systems in the rental units.
In a borough of two-thirds of a square mile where houses sit a driveway apart, BGS Security designs systems for narrow lots, shared alleys and the new multi-unit buildings rising on Garwood's former factory sites.
-
Driveways, gates, and outdoor access points — outdoor detectors can alert you when someone enters a configured protection zone, before they reach the house.
-
Doors and windows — door and window sensors, with arming settings that fit your family’s routine, all reporting to 24/7 alarm monitoring.
-
Cameras — see what triggered an alert; we tell you plainly which cameras can raise an alarm in your setup, and our own technicians handle the installation.
-
Fire, carbon monoxide and water — smoke, heat and CO detectors on fire alarm monitoring alongside intrusion; leak sensors alert you, and a compatible automatic shutoff valve can help limit damage when a leak is detected.
-
Shops, offices and other business premises in Garwood — business security with intrusion detection, cameras and monitored alarms, set up around your opening hours and who holds access.
What Do BGS Security Customers Say?
★★★★★
Manu Mathew
BGS Security did an outstanding job repairing and upgrading my outdated camera system. Brandon, the technician, was a pleasure to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about security cameras and related software, and he took the time to thoroughly understand the issues before resolving them. Rob helped identify my existing system and determined which cameras were compatible. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable, and reliable security camera professionals.

I am the owner of a private medical office in Norwich, Connecticut, and I am more than pleased that I switched my business security services from my previous provider to BGS. The service is outstanding, and the price is right. The person who installed the service was very professional, and the call center is very quick in answering any calls. They are always very courteous. I strongly recommend BGS for security services — the best that I’ve ever had.

Outstanding company in Monmouth County. The BGS Security team arrived on time, completed a very clean installation, and made sure every camera angle was perfect. I especially appreciate that they customized the system around our property instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach. We felt like we actually mattered. If you’re looking for honest advice, high quality equipment, and great service, BGS Security is the one.
Devin Auriana
After getting quotes from several companies, BGS Security stood out because they focused on what we actually needed instead of trying to sell unnecessary equipment. The installation was clean, the cameras are crystal clear, and the mobile app is incredibly easy to use. Their customer service has been outstanding every time we’ve called. Great experience from start to finish.
Caitlin Purcell
I love this security system for its features and ease of use. I feel safe and secure when I am both home and away. Any time I have a question they are very fast to respond, which I truly appreciate.

We chose BGS to protect our home when we moved for a multitude of reasons — first was the vibe we got from their management: very friendly and dedicated to meeting our needs at a great price point. The install was seamless and the equipment was cutting edge. Their customer service truly sets them apart from the rest.

As a customer, I can honestly share that BGS delivers on what they promise. Savage Wonder Art Center opened a new entertainment venue in Beacon, NY, under a tight time crunch and BGS played a very key service role. Highly recommend!!!

BGS Security comes in with all their expertise. With very knowledgeable professionals, they will assess your security needs and tailor a security plan to fit those needs perfectly. The most impressive is the quality of the latest equipment — it feels almost like in a Bond movie. I always know if someone is on my property way before they reach the door.
Robert Popescu

I can’t say enough good things about this company. My car got broken into in my own driveway and my old security system did not capture any of it. Called up BGS and spoke to Rob. He came to my house within an hour of hanging up and set me up properly. Found my blind spots and gave me exactly what I needed at a much better price point. Recommended Rob and BGS to my next door neighbor and they did the same for him!
Mihaela Ungureanu
Professional, reliable and responsive. Outstanding service.
Christopher Rold

Nadine Post
Prompt, professional and knowledgeable. All around excellent service.

The entire process from deciding on a system to installation was flawless. They took out the old ADT system and cleaned up after. The walk through and setup were well done. Getting a serious “good customer service” vibe, including checking in after the installation.
What makes securing a home different in Garwood?
Garwood is a 0.65-square-mile borough wedged between Cranford and Westfield, built as a factory town around the Jersey Central tracks — numbered streets to the north, tree-named streets to the south — with the castle-like Aeolian piano works now turning into apartments. Houses are small and close, side yards are narrow, and the newest residents live in multi-unit buildings with shared entries. Security here is about short sightlines and shared doors.
Garwood is 0.65 square miles of Union County squeezed between Cranford and Westfield, laid out in the 1890s as a factory town along the Jersey Central tracks — numbered streets north of the rails, tree-named streets south, North Avenue (Route 28) and South Avenue as the commercial spines. The Aeolian piano works and the other factories are long gone, but their sites are becoming apartments and the population has jumped by a fifth since 2020. The older housing is modest and close-set: capes, colonials and two-families on lots thirty or forty feet wide, where the side door opens onto a shared driveway.
BGS Security's security system installation in Garwood treats side and rear doors as the main risk — contacts on every exterior door, glass-break sensors on windows facing the driveway, and a compact camera on the rear — while residents of the new multi-unit buildings get Ajax wireless systems that avoid cable runs through rented walls. All of it runs on 24/7 central-station monitoring with cellular backup. We also serve neighboring Cranford and Westfield, and the rest of our New Jersey service area.
Locally, Garwood regulates alarms under Chapter 115, Article III of the borough code, enforced by the Garwood Police Department: the first two false alarms in a calendar year draw a warning, later ones are fined, and continued false alarms can cost you your registration. BGS Security handles the registration and sets the system up to help keep false alarms below that point.
